U14 Hurling 2010

We are delighted that Fins hurlers will be playing with Dal Cais for the 2010 season. This team was formed in 2009 as an amalgamation of Round Towers, Lusk and O’Dwyer’s, Balbriggan for hurling.
Last year the future for Fingallians U14 hurling looked bleak with small numbers of players and a timetable problem which would mean that the players from the upcoming U13 squad would not be available to us. This was very disappointing to us as managers and to the squad of players as we have been together since beginning at nursery level.
We looked for a way to allow the players continue together as a squad while improving their hurling skills. Dal Cais were the obvious solution as they grew out of a situation very similar to our own and are very happy to expand their squad with the Fins players for the 2010 season at U14.
Players should renew their membership with Fingallians for the year, even if only hurling. Fingallians remains the home club and players will transfer to Dal Cais for the 2010 season. Pakie Kelly will represent Fins in the management of Dal Cais.
The new squad is now up and running. The transfers from Fins to Dal Cais have been approved, and the arrangements for the year are in place.

Calendar

While the Football Season starts in January, the Hurling Season will not start until March. We will use this time to play a number of games to allow the team time to get used to playing together. We plan to play Challenge Games between now and the start of the Hurling Season. These games will be on Sundays as Saturdays are taken up with football. From March on Hurling and Football will be on alternate Saturday afternoons.
