Our U16 Footballers had a great win by a point over Castleknock to get the year off to a winning start. Our U8's also got off to a winning start with unbeaten performances in a mini tournament at Gormanstown.
Our Juvenile Section will be having their Annual Sponsored Walk on 6th Feb. The proceeds of this will be divided equally between the John O'Shea - Haiti Goal Appeal and our Juveniles Section.
The Club Football 7 a side got off to a successful start last Friday with a big turnout. Round two will take place this Friday. Players and Managers are asked to attend from 7.15pm. Soup & Sandwiches will be available after the evenings Football.
Brendan Kealy will return to the club on Friday the 29th January @ 7pm to continue work with coaching goalkeepers. Mentors & Keepers are invited. Please contact padraig.durkan.gpo.dublin@gaa.ie if you wish to attend.
I wish to remind you that the following motion was passed at Congress 2008: Rule 4.2 (Equipment) of the Playing Rules for Hurling and Football
a) In all Hurling Games and Hurling Practice Sessions it is mandatory for all players to wear a helmet with a facial guard
b) Helmets shall be approved for use on the basis of compliance with standards and tests set out in IS 355 as determined by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) c) A Referee shall not allow a helmet to be worn in a football game
